"The harder I work the luckier I get " Overview (A Little About Me)I have always been an extremely active and motivated person, continually driven to experience new challenges. I love sport and when I have time I like to water ski, windsurf, snow ski, dance ballroom and Latin American , ride horses, quad bikes, motor bikes, off road 4 x WD and even goat race!. I am married with a family of four children, one grandchild with our second on the way.
My first foray into a gymnasium was in circuit training and aerobic classes. In 2006 I began weight training with a personal trainer and won 4 titles in my first year including a National title. I work seven days a week, but am extremely passionate and love what I do. That same enthusiasm is what drives me in my pursuit of success in bodybuilding and I use the same positive affirmations and positive thinking in all areas of my life.
I have a very diverse company portfolio and my businesses tend to involve travel between the coast and outback NSW, which means my training needs to be flexible, portable, imaginative and effective.
InterestsI have a passion for anything beautiful. Exotic European sports cars, exquisite jewelry, antiques, fine food and the pursuit of a beautiful body. But I also love spending time in the outback where we hunt, fish, ride motor bikes and quads, catch goats and generally rough it. We also own a small gold mine which dates from the time of Cobb and Co and the remnants of one of the coach stops is located on our property which is fun to prospect around. Favourites (Food, Bodyparts, People)My favorite foods are anything fresh and tasty. From nouvelle cuisine to a juicy steak and onions on crusty fresh bread.
Things I most admire physically on other people are long strong lean legs and beautiful teeth! For me however it’s the thrill of a rounded, full shoulder and strong defined chest.
My favorite people are those with a “Can Do” attitude. My work allows me the honor of working with people from diverse socio-economic and academic back grounds and I am continually humbled by those individuals who in the most extenuating circumstances raise themselves up against all odds.
Motivations (What Motivates Me)I am motivated by the thrill of the chase. I love setting goals for myself and then executing them. I am stimulated by the challenges faced along the way and marvel at the resources used to find ways to overcome the problems. I believe in surrounding myself with a professional team who are experts in their given field. Women like Lindy Olsen and Rosa Maria Romero have set the bench mark for women to be intelligent, articulate and strong, whilst still retaining their femininity. I personally believe that women like Rosa Maria have single handedly lifted the professionalism of Women’s’ Figure Competition in this country. And like most accomplished people when it comes to success I am driven and uncompromising. Training History (Years, Location, Trainer)I train with the elite stable of athletes headed by respected coach and International Team Manager Michael Barrett. It is my belief that no matter how fit you are or how good you think you look you really need to have a good personal trainer, someone that you can trust. They are someone who can guide you through the training, dieting and posing and constantly give you an objective opinion. I have been training with Michael for the past 18 months and have benefited greatly from his unique scientific approach. Training Schedule (Training Style and Tips)I blend traditional western with eastern philosophies such as yoga into my training program, which I practice around 4 hours per week. Michael controls my weights and cardio schedule and as such just do as I’m told! A typical week consists of yoga, a 1 hour walk/run every morning, 1 hour of weights 3 days/week and posing every day. Michael never lets my training stagnate and each workout is different than the last.
I have found Michael’s muscle activation methods of training have helped me to increase my lean muscle density, definition and improve my overall muscular shape. By squeezing and keeping the working muscle under tension makes for a much harder workout.
Nutrition (Examples of My Diet)Because of my involvement with farmers markets , having a property in outback NSW, most of the foods we eat are organic or freshly produced strait from the farm or grower. My family and I eat the same meals which usually consist of fresh fruit and steamed vegetables ,lean meats and fish, rice and whole grain breads, plenty of eggs and lots of water. I modify my personal meals by using portion control.
My off season diet consists of:
6am freshly brewed Italian espresso coffee
7am ½ cup oats, protein powder, flaxseed oil
10am 3 rice cakes with cottage cheese, vine ripened tomatoes sprinkled with fresh Italian basil and a splash of balsamic vinegar
1pm Green salad served with 150g tuna and a drizzle of lime aloi.
4pm Protein shake with flax seed oil and fresh banana or plain low fat yoghurt topped with a blend of mixed berries or other fresh fruit in season and a drizzle of Mudgee yellow box honey.
6pm Fresh steamed vegetables with 100g fresh fish, lamb ,beef, goat or kangaroo.(depending on where we are)
Freshly brewed Italian espresso coffee.
8pm Protein Shake

Goals (Future Plans and Career Expectations)I like to set myself short, medium and long term goals which I write in my work diary so I see them daily.
My short term goals consist of increasing my overall muscle mass continuing to define my glutes ,quads and hamstrings, and maintaining a consistent body weight . I am also focusing on professional training for my posing with 3 x Australian Figure Champion and World Grand Finalist, Pro figure competitor Rosa-Maria Romero whom I believe has taken posing to a new level and created an art form.
My most important short term goal however is to continue to maintain a balanced lifestyle between my family, work, and training.
My medium term goal is to continue my three year assault to achieve first place at a national level and then represent my country at the Asia Pacific International in 2009.
And my long term goal is to become the new face of 50 and show that women need not be embarrassed by their age. My belief is that body building is about looking great for your age and that beauty has no age limit. Women in their 40’s and 50’s are doing things today that previous generations never thought possible. They are mothers of young children, CEOs of major companies, and students going back to school for advanced degrees and it is time for society to catch up with this new generation. We want to be seen in the diversity of our beauty for what we are, smart, strong and sexy!
