"It's not about being perfect, but doing the best you can every day!"
Overview (A Little About Me)
I'm a health and fitness nut with a gorgeous son Braden and wonderful husband Cam!
I've been living in Cairns for the past 10 years and just love the lifestyle and warmer climate.
For the past 8 years I've been right into my fitness although this wasn't always the case. It really has only been since moving to sunny Queensland that I found my passion for Health and Fitness. For years I worked in the hospitality industry before getting in to Sales & Marketing and having lots of fun travelling and working. It was only when I achieved my own personal fitness goals that I realised I could actually work in the field I was so passionate about. So I've gone on to become a qualified personal trainer and now run my own Online Personal Training business, www.getactiveonline.com. I absolutely love helping others feel better about themselves and can't believe it's a job! I also work part time as a flight attendant which lets me travel all over the place and find creative ways to fit in all of my training in!
Interests
Anything outdoors, I love getting out and about-- Whether it be a bushwalk, mountain biking, camping or kayaking! Anything that involves getting outside and being active. I love learning more about nutrition and how the body works; I am continually fascinated by what our bodies are capable of.
I also love catching up with friends for a nice dinner and dessert!!!!
Favourites (Food, Bodyparts, People)
Mmmmmm Chocolate! I have a bit of a sweet tooth, anything highly indulgent and sweet. Cadbury's chocolate is always a hit.
I am motivated by other people who work on their bodies and have a great toned body and females with great legs & butt!
Motivations (What Motivates Me)
Challenges! I love pushing myself to a new level, seeing what I am capable of. I'm motivated by others success stories and the obstacles that they have overcome.
Training History (Years, Location, Trainer)
I have been training consistently for about 8 years now. As I fly both domestically and internationally, I train wherever and whenever I can.
Training Schedule (Training Style and Tips)
Generally I like to weight train 3-4 times a week, splitting body parts. I usually change my routine around every few weeks to add variety and stop my body from getting used to it.
Cardio Schedule
I'm a bit of a cardio nut, just because I love the buzz I get from it.
I try and do a 45-60 minute session most mornings, switching between jogging, spinning and I'll throw in an interval session here and there. I also try and go for a nice power walk in the afternoons, more so to get me out in the fresh air as I tend to hit a wall late arvo's. As I still fly part-time I don't have set days I do things I just aim for a certain amount each week and fit it in whenever I can (I've learnt to be very flexible!)
Nutrition (Examples of My Diet)
I generally eat well but love a few treats on the weekend, and well, I just love food! I need to eat every few hours or I turn into a real grumpy bum.
Breakfast: Oats & Evolve WPI (favourite meal!)
Mid Morning: Almonds & Evolve WPI
Lunch: Tuna or Chicken Salad
Afternoon Snack: Chicken Breast & Apple or Horley's Carb Less Bar
Dinner: Barramundi, Salmon, Chicken or Steak and Vegies/Salad (love roasted veggie salad with Baby Spinach!)
Night Snack: Evolve WPI or Forme Yoghurt
My diet varies a bit when I'm flying but I always have 5-6 small meals a day.
Competition History

Loch Ness Marathon 2009 - Inverness Scotland
Goals (Future Plans and Career Expectations)
To be a great Mum and continue to help others feel the best they possibly can. Since having my son I'm better both physically and mentally and just want to help others feel the same. I'm continuing to work at expanding Get Active Online and will be releasing an ebook called the Yummy Mummy Diet!
I also love having challenges to work towards and am always keen for a fun run or two.
Media Coverage (Calendars, Magazines and Newspapers)
Oxygen Work in Progress Story- 2006
