"I've always trained in judo and I competed in the Sydney Olympics as a Cuban representative. After that, I went to Australia two and a half years ago and began training in mixed martial arts. I then recieved an invitation from Yoshida Dojo and I decided to join the Dojo. I've known about Yoshida since my judo days and I respect him because he became a world champion in the Olympics, and as a human he is very warm hearted. I was training in Australia before I joined Yoshida Dojo but it's easier to train at Yoshida Dojo because there are so many people with judo experience."
Lombard on his specialties: "I'm a judo player but I'm also good at striking. I watched PRIDE on TV and DVD's, and I often read about it in magazines and on the internet. Fighting in PRIDE has been a dream of mine for many years so I'm amazed that I'm actually getting a chance to fight."
