Getting in Shape for Summer - Tips from an Elite Athlete . . .

Well it’s that time of year again when the weather starts to heat up and we start thinking about pulling out those bikinis and shorts- that is until we take stock of the damage that all that winter comfort food has done over the last few months.
It’s easy to let a few extra kilos sneak up on us over winter when we can cover up with lots of layers, and going to the gym when it’s cold and dark is just not that appealing.
So how do you undo the damage? With a few adjustments to your diet and supplementation and a renewed enthusiasm for exercise you’ll be bikini ready in no time.
First thing: Renew that gym membership that you let expire or haven’t used. Now that the sun is up at 5am there’s no excuse why you can’t start your day with a little exercise. If you get your workout in first thing not only will it give you energy for the rest of the day but then there are no excuses why you can’t do it in the afternoon. If the gym is not your thing there are some great boot camps along the coast or just get outside and take a walk along the beach at a good pace- throw in some push-ups, lunges, squats and short sprints and not only have you done a great workout but you’ll feel full of energy and your metabolism is now firing for the next few hours. Now that you have got yourself moving again you probably need to reassess what supplements you are taking.
