New York Pro Fitness results

Well it has been a crazy couple of months for me. As those who know me are aware I have just returned from New York from competing in the New York Pro Fitness. My placing was disappointing but the US market is tough to break and being an outsider makes it all the more difficult. Having said that I compete for a range of reasons, not just for the placing�s that I may or may not be graced with.

I met some wonderful ladies back stage and we were all commenting on the things that we love about the sport, one of which is definitely the friendship and camaraderie.

Through competing I get to travel and see and do things that a lot of people will never experience and for that I am thankful. New York is a fabulous city and my friend Kim Boyd (who travelled with me) and I had a fantastic time shopping and trying out all that New York food , after the show of course!

When I arrived home I literally got off the plane and then hopped in a truck and drove to Sydney with my husband Matt to go to Filex. On Monday morning I was back on deck for an early start at work before flying to Sydney the following weekend for the IFBB Australasian�s where I had 2 fantastic girls competing.

Both Kim and Sasha looked unbelievable and were standouts in their respective classes, Kim in the short class open figure and Sasha in the Novice figure. Unfortunately both girls were deemed to be too well conditioned and did not place as it seems the softer look was being rewarded. Both girls can be proud of their achievements as judging at these shows can be fickle but the comments of how fantastic they looked from total strangers certainly spoke volumes.

From here I guess it is back to the drawing board. I have taken a well earned week off training and dieting however I think I am ready to get back to normal and begin preparation for the Europa Pro show in August.
