Our Gold Coast ASN Team shares their new training secrets . . .
29.04.08
For most of you, like our ASN Team, fitness and health is a way of life. We train hard and push ourselves past our expectations physically and mentally everyday to achieve the fitness goals we've set ourselves. At the end of each session we walk away physically spent, but always with a greater understanding of our body and its limits.
Our ASN Gold Coast team would love to share with you our most recent training addiction somewhat outside the realm of weights and cardio. It has been responsible for improving not only our physiques, but also adding a sense of personal accomplishment and improvement to our daily lives. The feelings of well-being it gives each team member easily take over our mindset, ensuring each day is filled with confidence, success and achievement. It is...
Arakan Martial Art.
Put simply by 600+ members- Arakan is not just a sport… It is a way of life. The learning of this powerful art supports those who desire better health, a greater understanding of their mind and body, personal empowerment and an improvement in their overall wellbeing.
Though it may have crossed your mind already that Arakan Martial Art® is just about learning to kick and punch, self-defence or competing against an external opponent… Don’t be fooled. It incorporates these physical elements, however more importantly it is about exploring and redefining your limits and increasing your own potential.
Arakan Martial Art® members (including the ASN GC Team) are known to be constantly challenging themselves and each other, in a quest to get the most out of their life, personally and on the business spectrum.
Arakan Martial Art® doesn’t end when the lesson ends. The art itself has a flow on effect into our member’s professional and personal lives, resulting in an increase in motivation, focus and confidence, as well as improved stress management and personal success.
Their Chief Instructor Robert Ne Htoon Kyaw (who has direct lineage to thousands of years of Arakan Martial Art®) established this Burmese martial art on the Gold Coast in 1993. Up until this time only the privileged few in closed circles had been able to learn and explore this fascinating art.
Arakan club has over 600 members on the Gold Coast (wow!) and fifteen full-time Instructors and is still growing at a rapid pace. One thing that differentiates Arakan Martial Art® instructors from other martial arts is how each of them view themselves and their role in their students lives. Not only are each of them highly qualified and exceptionally talented martial artists; they are professionals who are incredible communicators and motivators, helping members achieve their physical and personal goals. They are life motivators and professional leaders in their industry.
Arakan is a practical, not to mention extremely effective way in teaching you how to confidently deal with multiple attackers and situations involving different types of weapons. You also learn how to defend yourself on the ground and close quarters fighting with an arsenal of lightning fast, powerful strikes, kicks and deflections that can be used against a much stronger opponent.
By training Arakan Martial Art® not only will you achieve tremendous physical results, but with time you will feel an enormous increase in your self-confidence, energy levels, whilst gaining a calmer, more positive outlook towards life.
Specialising in Private Lessons, allows Instructors to cater for the individual needs of each and every one of their members. Lessons are always tailored to individual abilities, fitness levels, goals and desired outcomes allowing you to gain the best results in the shortest time possible. Our ASN Team members all train indivdually and in a corporate group lesson as well. If you think private lessons may be too much to start with, there are additional options that include; corporate training, regular seminars, group classes, fitness classes (for those that prefer to focus more on fitness then self-defence) and an incredible juniors program to help develop confidence, awareness and promote leadership.
For more on Arakan Martial Art® visit their Gold Coast based website. For those outside their Brisbane and Gold Coast current training ground- do not worry! With the growing interest in Arakan, it will not be long until instructors are able to branch out across Queensland and other states offering to share their skills and knowledge in this life-transforming art.
