ASN NEWCASTLE CLASSIC 2008- Our best show yet! . . .

This year’s event was under pressure to exceed the success of last year’s event and the Newcastle team did not disappoint!
With more competitors and spectators than ever before, the Newcastle Classic is proving to be the event to attend as either a competitor or spectator!
With samples and information provided by 12 sponsors on the day, attendees were impressed with the array of sporting supplements on hand. Australian Pro Bodybuilder Lee Priest put in a marathon effort, signing autographs, smiling for photos and providing tips to fans for the duration of the show. Lee was also gracious enough to award trophies to finalist in the evening show, so we would like to say a huge “thank you” to Lee and his sponsors Body Ripped.
Our newest ASN Newcastle Team Member Craig McGrath stepped on stage for his first competition under the careful coaching and instruction of Shaun, ASN Manager. Craig put forward his best effort in both the pre-judging and final show posing rounds and routines, where some of the competition was fierce! For his first competition ever, he eventually came away with a 2nd in Mens Novice and 3rd under 70kg Mens Section. A big congratulations to Craig, who is now enjoying some Evolve Mass FX (one of our best selling mass gainers in-store) in preparation already, for next year’s show!
Our other ASN Newcastle- based sponsored athletes had a very impressive performance with the following results:
• Lisa Allan – 1st Figure Short Class
• Catherine Blanch – 2nd Grand Masters Figure
• Emily Lake – 3rd Sports Model
Two new athletes were also invited to be a part of our sponsored athlete’s team due to their exceptional performances, and have already proved to be a valuable part of our team.
• Jayde Farrell – 1st Under 90kg & 1st Men’s Overall
• Robert Zalovski – 1st Under 70kg
Preparations are already underway for next year’s show, with two sponsors already signed for 09 due to the success of this year’s event. Watch this space for updates, and a confirmed date in September 09. We will see you there!
